A Guide to Mookaite Jasper

read

Have you found yourself becoming more and more resistant to change? Whether it’s age holding you back or fear of the unknown, it’s all too common that we become content in our little bubbles and safe places even if they don’t make us that happy. Luckily, there is a stone that can help with that.

It’s Mookaite and it belongs to the Jasper family, which are stones for creativity and connection. This Aussie-native star is unlike lots of stones, especially those sharing its earthy reddish-brown color. So if your soul, and perhaps your body too, could use some healing from stress and fear, keep reading. The Mookaite Jasper could be your next amazing find!

History of Mookaite Jasper

This crystal can only be found in Western Australia in the outskirts of Mooka Creek, about 600 miles north of Perth, hence the name Mookaite. An Aboriginal Mother Earth stone, the word “Mooka” refers to “running waters,” pointing to the many natural springs found in the area of its origin. It goes by many names: Mookaite, Mook Jasper, Moukite, Mookalite, or just Mook. However, the locals of Mooka Creek named it “Mookaite” so that is the correct term for the stone.

The mesmerizing stone is formed in a special way: “as the skeletal remains of radiolaria, microscopic protozoa with a hard silica shell were deposited over millennia as sediment in shallow areas of sea beds. As waters receded, the remains were solidified by additional silica carried in groundwater, along with minerals that produced its beautiful combinations of red, burgundy, mustard-yellow, cream, white, brown, mauve, and purple,” according to Outback Mining

The Many Colors of Mookaite

You can easily see the gorgeous variety of colors in a Mookaite stone. You’ll typically find shades of delectable brown, reminiscent of caramel and chocolate candies as well as deep reds. Each color you see has its own special meaning and purpose.

Red Mookaite: Red is the color of passion and energy. Red crystals embody strong emotions and vibrations and typically relate to feelings of devotion and trust. The red Mookaite is filled with metaphysical properties surrounding these ideas. Moreover, it brings a sense of self-confidence to those who need it. Let the red swirled stone bring vibrant energy into your life and fill it with excitement! The deeper scarlet varieties of this stone evoke vitality and victory to its wearer. It provides maturity in love and life. Many people turn to the red stones to protect them from harm. As a jewelry piece, it can even warn you when danger is near.

Yellow Mookaite: The bright, energizing color of the Mookaite variety evokes a sense of power, optimism, and positivity, specifically in relationships. This yellow stone helps invite new relationships and hobbies into your life! Let it aid good communication between you and your loved ones. Turn to it when you need help with knowing where to go in life and accepting that life has a plan for you.

Metaphysical Properties of Mookaite

Promote Positivity: If we combine the red and yellow metaphysical properties described above, we have one powerful crystal tool! Filled with positivity, a sense of grounding, and lots of light, Mookaite is great at keeping you in the “here and now” and anchoring you to the present. It can help you see the good right in front of you and enjoy life day by day! The fiery mix is invigorating and inspiring.

Accept Change: Mookaite Jasper is known for encouraging flexibility within oneself. Sometimes we tend to fear change or resist new directions in life. This fiery stone will help you see change as a new opportunity and accept it with open arms. It does this by invoking positivity into new situations and also helping you release stagnant emotions that may be creating upset surrounding these challenges. Let go of fear and embrace change with Mookaite.

Get a Boost of Energy: When you take those invigorating feelings and associate it with the body, you have a boost of vitality for the immune system! Mookaite Jasper is restorative for the internal organs such as the kidneys and bladder. It also helps balance fluid and minerals within your body and is highly restorative of tissues and immunity. It also helps soothe the digestive system through these actions and by lowering the negative effects of stress.

How to Use Put it to Good Use

As Mookaite has been known to warn you when imminent danger is coming closer, this gem is best worn in the form of jewelry. It can be your little protective bodyguard, shielding you from harm and alerting you when you need to be wary.

Because it’s also good for balancing health and known for its restorative properties, placing Mookaite underneath the pillow or bed at night can help recharge you as you sleep. Let it restore you when your body is most focused on regeneration.

Working with the Solar Plexus and Root chakra, you can also use Mookaite directly on the body either alone or during meditation. Keep it near to those chakras when you need help surrounding the release of fear, asking for support, and grounding yourself to the present. If you’re feeling physical pain in the belly or elsewhere, hold it against that area as you set some nurturing intentions.

Enjoy a New Lease on Life

Working with this joyous yet grounding stone is a spectacular way to revitalize life. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on this Australian-born stone, keep it near and dear. Best paired with sunstone, another joyous crystal, it will invite peace, love, and serenity into your present and whatever future that is coming your way. Also good with other Jaspers, rhodonite, and moonstone, it is filled with metaphysical healing properties that anyone can benefit from. But, overall, it’s a stone that gets along well with anything else in your collection. So remember to enjoy it and let the newfound contentment fill you with light and healing energy!
